Studley Park Cabernet

The 2001 Studley Park Cabernet is our current release and by far our best. It is made exclusively from cabernet sauvignon grapes grown at Studley Park Vineyard. The wine has excellent colour and a delicate bouquet which exhibits typical cabernet characteristics. The fruit was fully ripe at harvesting and this results in pronounced fruit on the palate and this is balanced by soft tannins. The wine is drinking very well now and should improve with more bottle age.

For the technically minded, the fruit at harvest had a sugar concentration of about 12.6° Baume, a pH of 3.4 and a total acidity of 6.2 gms per litre. Harvest took place on 10 April, 2001 and yielded about 4 tonnes of fruit. One of Australia's leading wine writers has given our 2001 vintage a gold medal rating. Llew Knight of Granite Hills Winery is our current wine maker and has made all vintages since 2000. Llew is recognised as a leading wine maker and specialises in producing high quality cool climate wines.
